WOMEN IN TOURISM INTERNATIONAL ALLIANCE LIMITED
Linking Tourism Professionals Globally

The distressing turmoil in international financial markets in the past few weeks seems to prove that geographically the Earth has one ocean, in spite of the fact that we carve it up with artificial lines on the map. Waves that strike one shore inevitably draw back, rebound and echo on others. In the midst of the maelstrom, reports have been flying that cause dismay in the travel industry. The “experts” say that tourism will be one of the worst affected sectors, but it is up to us to make sure that “they” don’t speak for us. There are a million examples of people who prosper in uncertain times, because they don’t give in to fear or depression. They look up and around, they examine their businesses and their customers, they make adjustments, they take bold moves, they team up with others, they think beyond the box. Will you sell expensive itineraries to someone who can’t pay their bills? Probably not. Are there still people taking honeymoons, traveling to family reunions, meeting clients, needing a vacation, itching to get away? Certainly. Let us focus our minds first, and then focus our businesses. Now is the time for planning, for promotion, for marketing, for implementation. Now is not the time for inaction.

New Membership Acquisition Campaign to commence immediately

Following the impressive gains of the 2007/2008 membership acquisition campaign, we’re not going to argue with success. We’re going to do it again!

Here are the rules: Starting immediately after the Hawaii Annual General Meeting (16 September 2008), each time a member is responsible for recruiting a new member, and that member’s name is entered on the application by the joining member, her/his name will go into a drawing for a fabulous prize. The member can have as many entries as the number of members she/he introduces.

In addition, each member who recruits five members will receive a free Global Partnership for twelve months. If the member recruits ten new members, she/he will receive two free Global Partnerships which can be transferred to their clients or colleagues.

And what is the prize, you ask?
