Nestled on the southern shore of Upolu, the second largest island in Samoa, is the beautiful SINALEI REEF RESORT & SPA, familiar to many WITIA members from our 2018 Educational. Samoa has been a health leader in the South Pacific, remaining COVID-free and rolling out a nationwide
vaccination program. With Sinalei’s staff about to become front line workers as soon as borders open, the resort’s management has worked in conjunction with the Samoan Ministry of Health to facilitate vaccination for almost everyone across the resort. As of 23 November 2021, Samoa proudly announced that 96% of the eligible population has received their first vaccination, with 83% being double-vaxxed.
The Sinalei Reef Resort and Spa is looking to the future with optimism. While the resort remains open to the domestic Samoan market, management and staff are preparing to welcome overseas guests as soon as tourism can resume. They anticipate the welcome sight of planes touching down full of vacationers – sooner rather than later.
